Basic Principles and Fundamentals of Line Locating II (BPFII)

This course is available to all those interested in becoming a locator technician, as well as those who would like a more thorough understanding of the importance of line locating (ie: ground disturbance supervisors, company management, contractors, etc).

This is a two-day course on basic line locating training and techniques with concentration of the rules and regulations pertaining to ground disturbance.  Safety issues and practices are strongly emphasized and addressed in detail.

One day is dedicated to line locating theory, and one day is provided for a "hands on" training exercise on an active site.

Upon successful completion of this two-day training course, students will be qualified as "trained to industry standards", and will receive an EMLOC Ltd BPFII Line Locating certificate, valid for three years from date of issue.

However, students will not be competent, qualified line locators until they have acquired at least 200 hours of employer training under close supervision on all locator tasks, as per CAPULC Canadian Locator Technician Standards and CAPULC Locating Industry Recognized Practices (LIRP).
